Along with resin-bound surfacing, we also install resin bonded gravel in Lancashire. This is not a permeable surface type, but is still popular. The bonded gravel is a scatter system which means the resin is laid down first and then the stone aggregate is scattered on top; therefore the surface is not smooth. Resin bonded gravel is a cheaper option, however you need to be aware that this flooring type is not porous and so water can build up on top of your surface in the event of heavy downfall of rain.
If you are interested in the process on how to install this surfacing type, please have a look at our basic step by step guide: or more in depht (Click Here)
1.Prepare the area (standard resin-bound can be installed over concrete or tarmac. Stone sub bases will need to have tarmac or concrete installed as part of a sub base.
2.Install edging where required (this flooring kind requires an edge to lay up to 15mm to 18mm lip minimum)
3.Mix the stone aggregate with the specialist resin in a 120L upright mixer specialist for the job.
4.Pour the mixture into a screed sledge and pull to create a layer ready to screed.
5.Screed the resin-bound paving across the sub base to create a smooth flat surface.
